For Better, For Worse...

Our Guest Editor this week is the brutally honest Sara Barron.

The London based New Yorker is both a writer and stand-up comic. Her show 'For Worse' opens at Soho Theatre next week (22 Jan - 27 April). Sara's work plays to the gritty sarcasm adored by her 'Brit' audience. She bares a golden authenticity, chiming and grinding awkward truths with precision wit.

In Sara's Run-Riot Interview, she speaks about her approach to romance, the comics that inspire her right now, 'psychotically funny' porn, 'Ma Bitches', and how she wants Joan Rivers’ old job.

In our Magazine section Mira Calix announces the release of her new EP Utopia, along with the video of the lead track 'rightclick' (watch here). C*NTemporary have a call out for creatives to get involved with 'Deep Trash: EcoTrash' - a new project at the ICA this spring. Acclaimed artist Anton Mirto has a voluntary position with her companies next project 'Soul' - more information, here.

For more weird culture gems and obscure competitions and offers (a special 241 offer for the entire Michelangelo Antonioni season at the BFI; a festival pass for NOW 19 at the Yard Theatre; a pair of tickets to see The Raft and Q&A with director Marcus Lindeen at Muswell Hill's Everyman Cinema; and a timely offer to see Dad's Army Radio Hour at Wilton's Music Hall) - browse our Offers page. As for the best of the rest - rummage through our genre-bending pages where you'll find plenty of haut happenings.

Here's to wishing you an extraordinary week dear Players! Bottoms up! RR xx
