A night that brings the sounds of Northern Soul to the next generation. Expect some truly groove-drenched music from DJs Scarlett O’Malley and Ollie Tobin, plus more to be announced.

Scarlett O'Malley (The Soul Exchange)
West London-based DJ Scarlett O’Malley has Northern Soul running through from her head to her toes in her record collection, at her fingertips and on the dancefloor. As a part of the Deptford Northern Soul Club collective, she will be bringing an eclectic mix of lovingly chosen Detroit-led stompers and Philly plattered progressive Northern to our night. Before taking to the decks as a DJ, Scarlett’s deep-rooted love affair with heart-wrenching soul music found a home on the radio. Her award-winning show, ‘Scarlett’s Doo-Wop to Northern Soul Show’, took home Surge Radio’s 'Best Specialty Music' and ‘Best Female’ title in 2015 and 2016. Scarlett is a touring DJ with having toured the country with Itchy Feet as their production manager and resident DJ, music runs in all the threads of her life. Now a regular DJ at Fred Perry, and The Blues Kitchen and with her show ‘The Soul Exchange’ on Portobello Radio, she is spreading soul across London by any means necessary.

Ollie Tobin
Resident DJ and co-founder of SET Dalston. Vinyl-only DJ spinning everything soul, funk and disco-orientated from Northern soul to Japanese rare-groove and Bombay disco. Something to behold.

Deptford Northern Soul Club
After a drunken conversation at a festival; Deptford Northern Soul Club was formed in September 2016 by lifelong friends William J. Foot and Lewis J. Henderson. Their aim was to create a gimmick free Northern Soul night in the cultural centre of the world, Deptford. After the success of the sold out launch night in November 2016, Deptford Northern Soul Club secured a monthly residency at Bunker Club on Deptford Broadway, bringing the sounds of Northern Soul to the next generation.

Since then the night has been a regular sell out and the boys recently took the party on the road, stopping in Dublin, Belfast, Cambridge, Liverpool and Todmorden on their first tour in November 2017. Other notable bookings include supporting Eddie Piller on the William’s Green stage at Glastonbury, supporting Norman Jay MBE at his Good Times Goes East carnival party and supporting Sleaford Mods and The Manic Street Preachers at the Q Awards at the Roundhouse in London.
