To celebrate the Day of the Dead, A Curious Invitation and Bourne & Hollingsworth wish to entice you into the inky pages of the Brothers Grimm. Just don't expect to live happily ever after.

Once upon a darkness, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm penned their twisted tales of mutilation, cannibalism, infanticide and sorcery. And every night since then parents have tucked their children in bed and made their blood run cold with these grotesque yet beautiful fraternal fantasies.

THE DARK WOOD

You have been abandoned by your wicked stepmother deep in our murky sylvan realm. To survive you must hunt out the legendary woodland feast served by the mythical GOLDEN SPRITES of the evergreen glades.

THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE

Follow the trail of breadcrumbs to the witch's cottage, where the shrivelled crone will entice you in with bonbons and gateaux, before tempting you with potions, brews and philtres from Bourne and Hollingsworth's lavish cocktail menu.

THE FUNERAL PYRE

You now enter a ballroom frozen in time and overgrown with bindweed and poison ivy. This is the festering heart of the witch's domain. In the centre rises a great stack of hay and tinder on which hapless children will be roasted. From nearby branches THREE RAVENS croak yarns of the cursed and the doomed.

But fear not, for those vaudevillian psychobillies TANKUS THE HENGE will hold the fell spirits at bay with their blend of ska, dixieland and gipsy.

Then as midnight chimes the ROUSTABOUTS will scale the towering pyre to spin sounds from bygone eras and forgotten lands.

THE GREAT HALL ST PANCRAS

This majestic Portland-stone-faced neo-classical edifice modelled on Place de la Concorde in Paris will fall under a spell of enchantment for the evening.

THE DEVIL'S THREE GOLDEN HAIRS

Join the lovelorn miller's son on his quest into the bowels of Hell. Here he must pluck three golden hairs from the head of the Prince of Darkness, who is being serenaded by the denizens of the underworld. Lilith, the Queen of the Night, presents a cabaret line up of the utmost wickedness including Lolo Brow, Bambi Blue, Penny Metal and the travelling menagerie.
