Any of you who read my ramblings elsewhere will know that I have a small obsession with mermaids. They've had a fair bit of press lately, what with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both dressing up as mermaids, and most recently US government officials releasing a statement declaring that they definitely don't exist ( and I had such hopes for Obama..).

I found this video on one of my favourite blogs; I am a mermaid.com which featured this beautiful motion picture, starring 'real life mermaid' Hannah Fraser in an entry into the Sigur Ros film-making competition. The video is by Ivan Landau.

I think it's really beautiful and suitably haunting for Sigur Ros's music. You can see more videos of Hannah underwater, swimming with dolphins, whales and all of her fellow sea creatures here on her site.
