Here at Run-Riot we love promoting emerging talent, so we were very excited when we heard about Samsung’s Launching People initiative, which aims to nurture the next wave of up and coming British talent.

Through mentorship with industry pros like internationally renowned actor Idris Elba, the Launching People Initiative is seeking people full of brilliant ideas, creative energy and unbridled passion for what they love. Then, through one-on-one work with Idris and access to some of Samsung’s most cutting-edge technology, they’ll help you create something amazing. The collaborative journey towards your final project will also be documented as part of a TV series to air later on in 2014, giving you and your great ideas even more exposure.

Two opportunities for everyone:
1. The mentors will select four candidates with whom they’ll work one-to-one. The chosen protégés will spend 2-3 weeks together, working closely with their mentors in a house fully furnished with Samsung’s latest technology on their personal projects, building towards a grand launch event and making their ideas and ambitions a reality.
2. And the public will get to vote for one winner in each category to receive £500 for personal tuition and Samsung technology up to the value of £2000.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of being mentored by Idris himself is to make a 2 minute video and upload it to LaunchingPeople.co.uk. Tell them a bit about yourself, what you’re passionate about and your idea for an amazing project.

Idris says “I’m looking for someone that wants to tell a story and inspire others. They might have an idea that they’re not quite sure how to take to the next level. If I represent anything, it’s someone who dreamed big and achieved those dreams. If anyone out there has a similar aspiration, then I want to hear from them.”

You have until March 6th to submit your video before Idris chooses one person to work with one-to-one and help them to bring their dream project to life.
