Job Opportunity: Programmer (Drama, Dance, Film, Comedy); Festival Coordinator, Bloomsbury Festival

Bloomsbury Festival seeks two freelance posts, a Festival Coordinator and a Programmer to complete its dynamic Festival team to deliver a four day festival from 22-25 October.

The festival is interested in these posts being either separate or combined.

Bloomsbury Festival is a creative explosion of arts, science, literature, culture and fun throughout the streets, parks, museums, galleries, laboratories and public and (normally) private buildings of this extraordinary area.  For hundreds of years Bloomsbury has been catalyst for ideas that have had impact across the world.  Bloomsbury Festival celebrates contemporary Bloomsbury; a hot bed of creativity and pioneering development which has one of the youngest and most diverse populations in the country.   Working with partners such as University of London, Wellcome Trust, RADA and Bedford Estates, and with artists and local people, the 2015 festival is inspired by Unesco’s Year of Light, and will provide a spur for new project development and community celebration.

The festival is therefore seeking:

  • Programmer  (Drama, Film, Dance, Comedy) to seek out, create and coordinate these elements of the programme plus activity that enlivens four festival hubs.   This will be a contract of up to 30 days commencing immediately and with the majority of programming work complete in April – July. Fee between £100-£120 per day.

  • Festival Co-ordinator to manage and coordinate the festival’s programme including Festival and core partner productions, office management, marketing and fundraising support.  This will be a contract of up to 90 days, commencing as soon as possible.  The work pattern will be initially 2 days per week, moving to 3 days in June, and full time in September and October.   Fee between £75-£90 per day.

The company is open to proposals to combine the posts.

Additional team members in place are:  Festival Director; Programmer (Music, Galleries, Museums, Heritage walks); Production Manager; Marketing Manager; Social Media Coordinator.
