Job Opportunity: Head of Marketing and Communications, London Film School

LFS is a post graduate conservatoire offering two year MA in Filmmaking, a one year MA in Screenwriting, and a one year MA in International Film Business, as well as supervising PhD students in Film Practice in partnership with Exeter University. LFS Workshops delivers over fifty courses each year aimed at industry professionals looking to deepen their practice.

LFS is committed to developing imaginative storytellers with strong individual voices who will lead and influence the global screen industries through craft expertise and innovative narrative approaches. They are now looking for a dynamic and creative marketing and communications professional, who can help us build on 60 years of heritage and ensure the LFS remain one of the leading film schools in the world.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Working with the Director of External Relations to develop and guide LFS’s marketing and communications strategy, in order to support student recruitment and build the LFS brand. Devising and implementing the external and internal marketing and communications strategy to ensure that the School communicates in a consistent, accurate and professional way with all stakeholders including staff, students, potential applicants, alumni, industry and governors.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

  • Significant experience at a senior level in a marketing and communications role within Higher Education or Further Education and ideally, a screen related industry

  • Knowledge of international student recruitment and the Higher Education landscape

  • A collaborative, innovative team player with a positive outlook who is able to engage and build rapport whilst delivering significant change

  • A strategic and creative thinker with highly polished written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to communicate ideas in ways that motivate and build trust and enthusiasm

  • The presence, personality and gravitas to be able to operate successfully as a senior ambassador to the School

DESIRED

Experience of creating and implementing an alumni relations strategy to build a global alumni network.

TERMS

Hours of work Monday to Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm (with some evenings and weekends)

6 weeks annual leave

£40K + negotiable according to experience
