Job Opportunity: Head of Commercial & Customer Development, British Film Institute

Salary £53,499 – £62,586 per annum

The BFI is looking for a Head of Commercial and Customer Development to develop and implement a BFI-wide commercial and customer care strategy across all BFI customer-facing touchpoints.

This role will have responsibility for the leadership and management of existing and new revenue streams at BFI Southbank and elsewhere on BFI sites including a business growth slate of considerable ambition and the overall customer development strategy required to deliver this growth.

The post holder is responsible for managing the teams responsible for delivering the operational and commercial services of BFI at BFI Southbank including: Customer Service and Box Office Management in venue and at other venues; management of BFI Membership; the BFI retail offer both in venue and online and a rolling programme of business-growth initiatives BFI-wide.

At the heart of this role is the responsibility to use outstanding customer service to deliver an ambitious commercial growth strategy. Customer service in-venue, in person and online is key to delivering the commercial strategy that BFI relies on to grow its earned income.

You will be business focused, financially literate with a significant experience in a customer service management role and a strong track record of managing teams responsible for driving commercial revenues to deliver ambitious annual targets.

You’ll need experience of online, retail and merchandise development and the ability to negotiate commercially favourable contracts.
