Job - Executive Producer – Coney

£31,000-£35,000 dependent on experience & contract.
Full time.

Coney is at the forefront of contemporary theatre, with a thriving expertise in interaction design and public engagement and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation through 2015-18. We’re now recruiting for an Executive producer to lead the company through the next stages of strategic and financial development, and leading the producing of its core programme.

We make theatre with the audience at its heart, driven by principles of adventure, curiosity, and loveliness. Our work combines interactive performance, game design and pervasive digital technology to build deeper engagement through collaboration and co-creation, taking place anywhere people gather: in theatres, schools, museums, on the streets and online. A Coney experience starts when you first hear about it and only ends when you stop thinking about it.

Led by its Artistic Directorship, Coney HQ programmes and produces work in collaboration with artists and makers from a wider network. As we enter a new phase of Coney as a charity and a National Portfolio Organisation, with a focused programme of work to develop in partnerships over the next 3 years, and current projects including theatre audiences building a new nation, adventures in the financial district of cities, and an ever-escaping cat  – there is much to do.

Alongside Coney’s Artistic Directorship, the Executive Producer sits at the heart of a small, dynamic team.  The role combines strategic leadership and clear decision-making with the need for strong collaborative skills and a natural ability for nurturing innovative cultural projects.

You will drive the resourcing of Coney’s core programme of work, leading bids for funding from a range of sources to underpin the core programme, developing our friends and maintaining thriving relationships with our stakeholders, and helping the company develop and deliver an effective range of consultancies across sectors. You will take a lead role in initiating, developing and maintaining the relationships needed for the company to create and present its work in the UK and beyond.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining vital relationships with Coney’s collaborators and stakeholders, including Arts Council, England, representing the company’s interests and furthering the case for the impact of its work with artists and audiences.

Applications should be sent to knock@coneyhq.org with subject line Executive Producer application.

Deadline for applications is 10am on Tuesday 2 December 2014. Interviews will be held in London on 9 or 10 December, with second round interviews anticipated in the following week.
