GoodPlanet - a French Eco Project

GoodPlanet
...

GoodPlanet is a non-profit organization (Law 1901) created in the 1st of July 2005 and chaired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, to raise public’s awareness on environmental protection and to bring concrete answers to the ecological crisis.

The objective of Yann Arthus-Bertrand

Since 1990, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has flown over around one hundred countries. His aerial photographs, inseperable from the texts which accompany them, invite each one of us to ponder upon the evolution of our planet and the future of its inhabitants.
In 50 years, mankind has modified more the world’s environment than during all the history of humanity. The Earth ecosystem worsens and expresses its limits in every ways : fresh water, oceans, forests, air, climate, arable lands, free space, etc. We live a decisive era, where the alternative offered by a sustainable development policy must help to create the changes which will make it possible “to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”. We are all personally responsible for the future of our Earth. Because each one has a role to play, each one has the capacity and the duty to take action and to mobilize him/herself.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s awareness and desire to commit himself were then concretized in the creation of the GoodPlanet association.

The mission of GoodPlanet

GoodPlanet works on public’s awareness raising and on the elaboration of concrete solutions in favor of a more responsible lifestyle; more respectful of the planet and its inhabitants by:

* Sensitizing a large number of citizens to the world’s problems to give each one an active role in the future of the planet and its inhabitants;
* Mobilizing the economic actors and policies by linking them with the activities of the association and by helping them to set up their own sustainable development related procedures;
* Acting on the implementation of programs which intend to give concrete answers to the environmental crisis.

GoodPlanet is member of the French 'Alliance pour la planète' and the Comité 21 by the side of other French ecological associations.

GoodPlanet will pass soon from the non-profit organization (law 1901) status to that of a recognized public interest Foundation.This new statuts will enable us to give make impact on our current projects and to develop more ambitious ones.
