A friend of RR is doing a rather splendid project based on exchange, have a read and please do forward on to anyone you think might be interested (especially if they might be able to help with funding!)...

'The basic premise is that we exchange painted portraits for other peoples' services or artworks and these are then exhibited. These exchanges have been made with tailors, textile designers, photographers and artists. Through this form of bartering we aim to take this exhibition to New York- we are currently talking to Virgin Airways about exchanging a portrait of one of their pilots for a couple of tickets to JFK. The London show is in King's Cross and the New York show is on Rivington St.'

They're looking for a sponsor who would be willing to exchange a bespoke painting for funding. As they already have the spaces the funding will go predominantly towards promotion and installation.
