Weekly London gig recommendation blog! 17th Sept

Alright folks! So with the all new Run Riot site we can (much more enthusiastically of course) celebrate the return of my weekly gig recommendation blog!

Not sure from what day to what day I should do it... how about Friday to Friday why not. I’m feeling like I’ve been run over after End of the Road Festival and Daredevil Christopher Wright last night but sure I can scout around for some shows!

Sooo starting on Friday the 17th of September we have one gig that stands out above all the others and thats the 10 years of Rockfeedback party at brand new venue XOYO in East London.

Playing are Future of the Left, British Sea Power, Three Trapped Tigers & Anna Calvi which is a hell of a bill!

Actually there is another that is even better. Bo Ningen, Brontide and Blue on Blue at Queens of Hoxton. MASSIVE WINNER.

18th September - Doesn’t seem like a massive gig day to be honest...in fact after hunting around I cannot find a single gig that really takes my fancy.

19th September  - Sunday is going to make up for it because I’m DJing at the Eat Your Own Ears curated Turning Point Festival with Nedry, Bo Ningen, Rocketnumber9, Actress and a host of other BRILLIANT bands. Literally can’t wait.

20th September - Edwyn Collins is playing a free instore at Rough Trade East, obviously a bit of a legend but is he actually making good music now? Everyone I talked too who saw him at EOTR said he was brilliant so looking forward to that if I can make it.

21st September - Gotta be Mount Kimbie at XOYO methinks, still haven’t had a chance to see them live and I rather like the debut album. Heard mixed things about their live show but definitely want to check it out for meself.

22nd September - One of mine that day it’s Aidan Baker from Nadja, Simon Scott from Slowdive and a band called The Resonance Association at Corsica Studio’s. REALLY looking forward to some really interesting music at my favorite venue in London.

For fans of soundtrack, shoegaze, soundscapes to heavier doomy stuff.

23rd September - Not one outstanding gig but quite a few goodens, Ducktails at The Grovsner at an Upset the R show, SBTRKT at Koko supporting Little Dragons should be great, haven’t seen him in ages and really want to hear how he is now.

Well there we go! Hope you can make it to one of em (or more for that matter) all the stuff I have going on is up on www.goddontlikeit.com and you can also listen to my weekly podcast of new music from Independent Record Labels up on the podcast section of this very site.

Have a gooden.
x Anthony
