The Gig List 30 March - 4 April: Anthony Chalmers lines up the week's best London gigs

Alright! So I'm a bit out of breath after my new excercise thing am working on to counter the size of my ever increasing belly but I think can get it together to recommend some gigs for the week!

Monday:
The gig of the day today has got to be Peggy Sue's album Launch at The Garage with Dan Michaelson & Mariners Children supporting! It may have sold out though so not much good...Apart from that Is Tropical might be worth checking out at Puregroove, it's free entry
and they are getting talked up a fair bit although I haven't been able to check them out yet unfortuneatly.

Tuesday:
One of my shows on Tuesday and thats Denmarks Alcoholic Faith Mission over to play! They are touring promoting a rather ace new album and I'm really looking forward to seeing them. Deer Park & Russell Joslin are supporting and it's at The Wilmington Arms.

Also there is Hounds of Hate & Maria and the Mirrors at Bardens Boudior which is bound to be great and under attended and just seem that Therapy? Are playing Water Rats!? Are they still together!? Anyway will be great in somewhere so small
anyway sure be good fun.

Wednesday:
Wed is all about Archie Bronson Outfit at ULU, no idea who is supporting but they are incredible and deserve to have a totally rammed crowd.

Seems like there are SO MANY great gigs this night, Besnard Lakes at Cargo, Goldheart Assembly ICA, The Drums at Old Blue Last, Her Name is Calla/Worried About Satan at The Lexington and more even.

Thursday:
I'm going to be down at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill for Sons of Noel & Adrian and The Leisure Society which I am REALLY looking forward too. Plenty of other great gigs on though, my flatmate is going to Tangerine Dream at The Royal Albert Hall which was extortionately expensive  but would no doubt be great and if it's a small one you want King Creosote at The Slaughtered Lamb will be ace too.

And just seen another one that will be a big winner Nedry at The Old Queens Head for great music magazine Stool Pigeon's book launch, Love Nedry!

Friday:
This another ridiculous day for gig clashing just unbelievable! I'm hosting the Pink Bar in 93 Feet East as a copromo with The Playground promoters and there are 5 bands playing in the main room. It's 4th time have done it there on the Friday
and is always really good fun and free entry too. On the gig from at The George Tavern Bo Ningen are playing with Trash Kit and Blue on Blue which is just an amazing lineup and then at Bardens it's Drum Eyes with Victoria and Jacob which doesn't fit AT ALL but they are both fantastic especially the incredible DRUM EYES!! And thats totally not to mention the Daniel Johnston & Jeffry Lewis show at The Troxy which is bound to be great. Daniel was incredible at Union Chapel last year.

Saturday:
I'm down at Old Blue Last for Veronica Falls, La La Velasquez & Girls Names at Old Blue Last is going to be AMAZING and it's free too. It's promoted by the Dance Magic Dance girls who I love loads. Sure there is lots of other stuff on but thats the best one!  There is also lots of dancing to girl bands etc.

Sunday:
It's the easter Sunday so there is tons of clubnights and the like before the bank hol monday. But I dunno really.... looking around and not so much catching my eye on that front!

I reckon one that will be good fun is a night of music, art & Theatre at The Camden Head which a friend of mine put me on too that is well worth checking out.

Thats it better get back onto other stuff! Enjoy the shows this week.

You can check out all my stuff on ...

x Anthony
