Gabby Young's London Fashion Week Diary part 1!

Hello Rioters, Gabby Young here, songstress and fashion afficianado!I'm here to give you snapshot of my first foray into London Fashion Week. I've always been a big fan of beautiful frocks which led to me developing a fairly eclectic stage style. LFW is the perfect place to get inspiration for new show-stopping outfits!I've recently become involved with the 'Miss Kiki Salon Presents' collective who are soon to be producing a range of pieces inspired by little old me, called Salon Gabrielle; I couldn't be more excited! On Thursday night they kicked off LFW with the private view of their 'Six Easy Pieces' collection of silk scarves followed by an after party at Qunitessentially where I got to perform in the amazing Chapel. I was wearing a stunning dress by amazing designer Osman Yousefzada, combined with the
silk scarf 'Pandora' by Kundalini Arts for Miss Kiki Salon Presents.Irregular Choice lent me some great shoes and I topped it all off with a remarkable headpiece by Sahar Freemantle of UglyLovely.

On the first day of real business, I went to the Vauxhall Fashion Scout 'Ones to Watch' show- where I got snapped by the Paps for their Street Style, blog; picture above, which you can also see here: ... if you click on Street Style. I was wearing a handmade multilayered skirt, an Urban Outifitters waistcoast, Vintage lace puffed sleeve top and vintage mid heel shoes, as well as an All Saints coat.

First designer we saw was EUDON CHOI who showed some amazing boots, but otherwise fairly safe and uninspiring.DAVID LONGSHAW and ASKH were next, with some incredible 'rope' dresses that swung beautifully with the model's swagger and an amazing tusk shoulderpadded dress with shells and jewels. But my hands down favourite was FLORENCIA KOZUCH - dramatic wool and brilliant styling of a tribal kind with the models in wide rimmed hats and wonderful shoes adorned with poms- poms.

Above I'm pictured with Emma Crosby of Vauxhall Fashion Scout, wearing a'Fire' necklace by the amazing Jeffrey Michael: ... who I adore and hope to collaborate with soon.Emma is an absolute star who managed to get Kiki and I into the front row, despite it being packed!

On Saturday I went to visit Lee Klabin's showroom in Shoreditch; I've worn Lee's pieces for performances and videos before, I am a die-hard fan of her wonderful corsetry- as is Sarah Jessica Parker who wore this stunning feathered number.

Lee has evolved the classic corset shape so that its still sculpted, but has room to show off your lady bits rather than just squashing them flat! The style has proved so popular that Lee has ended up adapting it into everything from wedding dresses to Tweed work wear.I really love wearing Lee's work; you'll be seeing me in her pieces for lots of the LFW shows this week, and hopefully for further collaborations with Salon Gabrielle. I spent lots of this weekend in fittings for a dress the Kundalini Arts brothers are working on for my single launch on the 4th March; come along if you'd like to see it, as well as the Six Easy Pieces collection which will be exhibited too, alongside stalls selling everything from jewellery and cakes to underwear and magazines!
But for now, back to the non-stop shows and afterparties;its a tough life but someone's gotta do it!
