10-16 Jun. An emerging artist who is passionate about the effect of urban sprawl on wildlife uses stuffed animals to explore the issue, in this kitsch and, at times, humorous exhibition.
Fine art photographer Sarah Crew exhibits photographs of taxidermy - foxes, mice and squirrels, which interact with everyday objects and people, including herself. The pictures tell the story of a group of animals who move to the city and the issues they face as they negotiate their unfamiliar surroundings. Control, manipulation, the concept of the survival of the fittest and a sense of community all have a part to play in her elaborate photographic stories. The story behind the photographs is narrated through a limited edition book, “Welcome", said the Fox, produced by the artist which will be on sale.
