Photography exhibition taking place as part of ‘And What? Queer. Arts. Festival’ - London’s newest festival celebrating the work of LGBTQI artists across the city.
Bearded Brutes is the world premier of the hyper-coloured and stylised photographic exhibition by Mark Leeming. It blurs conventional perceptions of masculinity and femininity using beards, make-up, glitter and digital manipulation. Striking and-in-your-face Bearded Brutes celebrate visibility within the LGBTQI community.
The 24 portraits not only explore the feminine in the masculine (and vice-a-versa) they also reveal a little of each models unique personality and challenge the viewer to reassess definitions of beauty.
Mark Leeming
Mark is a Northwest based photographer specialising in fashion, portrait and landscape photography with a slant toward LGBTQI culture.
