Bedtime Stories at 40 Winks
This tiny, boutique hotel looks like something out of a fairytale - which makes it the perfect venue for some bedtime story telling.

40 Winks is an historic, four storey Queen Anne townhouse built in 1717, now home to interior designer David Carter. Its rooms have long been used at backdrops for fashion shoots and accommodation for celebrities- but now they are being opened up to us mere mortals! A dresscode of pyjamas, nighties and dressing gowns will be rigorously enforced, guests are advised to bring along a small cushion, a teddy bear and anything else that makes them feel warm and cosy. Nanny and Matron may be brought too (but you will have to pay for them as well…). Complimentary hankies will be provided should guests be moved to tears.

The new series of bedtime stories is going to be curated by renowned storyteller and mate of mine Rachel Rose Reid, and I have it on good authority that there will be some seriously A-list stars and musicians participating...

January:

22nd – Roger Llewellyn in ‘SHERLOCK HOLMES… THE LAST ACT!’ 5 stars at Edinburgh and nominated as one of the top ten Fringe plays… Described by Gyles Brandreth on LBC as “one of the great memorable nights of theatre”.

29th – ‘WILDE AT HEART’, performed by Patrick Marley and Genevieve Allenbury, brings the world of Oscar Wilde wickedly to life in a show that has toured the world with rapturous reviews (“A delightful evening, full of drama and emotion – beautifully compiled and thrillingly performed.” Sir Derek Jacobi)

February:

9th, 10th and 11th – A very special VALENTINE’S DAY BEDTIME STORY NIGHTS, offering tales of love, passion and romantic derring-do (suitable for singles, couples and threesomes).

26th - ‘WILDE AT HEART’ returns for its second and final night at 40 WiNKS.
